NHCRWA Names Pump Station the Jimmie Schindewolf Regional Pump Station

At its September 12, 2022 board meeting, the North Harris County Regional Water Authority (NHCRWA) named the Spears Road Regional Pump Station the Jimmie Schindewolf Regional Pump Station in recognition of his service as General Manager of the Authority from January 7, 2003 until December 31, 2020.

The Resolution also highlighted his 50 plus years of public service as Director of Public Works & Engineering under five mayors of the City of Houston, the first recipient of the American Public Works Association’s Charles Swearingen Presidential Leadership Award for distinguished service, the 1992 University of Houston Distinguished Engineering Alumnus Award, the TSPE 1994 Engineer of the Year and as Project Director for the Owners Representative Team for the Construction of NRG Stadium and Minute Maid Park.

“Jimmie Schindewolf has earned the admiration of his colleagues throughout government,” said board president Al Rendl, “as well as the engineering and construction professions.”
